Events - Patrol Camping at Woodhouse

Encourage your patrols to “camp alone” at Woodhouse! They can test out their independence and plan and carry out their own camp.

Branch Scout Section will provide a couple of leaders to ensure their safety, pop in and visit, and even sign off bits of their Campcraft Target if applicable. They might even slip in a little bit of training and advice, if appropriate.

This should be from Saturday lunchtime to early afternoon on Sunday.

Patrols will need to organise their camp, with leader support: eg. book site, arrange permissions, get equipment, plan shopping and menu, and devise a program for their camp.  Suggest they choose more remote corners of Woodhouse rather than right next to the Northern ASU……but up to them. They can even book themselves into Challenge Hill and receive the safety briefing. They will have to pay their camp fees to the Warden, which we can help them with if necessary.

We will need one week’s notice of your Patrol Camp please. They will have to bring a copy of their Y4 with them so that we have access to health information if required. If there are any special issues we should know about, leaders should also make contact.

Dates we can cover are:

Dates for these will be advertised at the beginning of term 1, but to a certain extent they can be “on demand.” Contact Rob Ahrens if you want a Patrol to camp independently at Woodhouse with Branch supervision.
